Talking Their Language

Play Plus Therapy is a child and family therapy practice that uses the therapeutic power of play to support social and emotional growth, strengthen relationships, and nurture resilience.

The child is at the centre of everything we do!

What is Play Therapy?

Play Therapy is a research-based psychotherapeutic approach that uses PLAY as the tool to help children communicate and process their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Since children often find it challenging to express complex emotions through words alone, play offers a comfortable, natural way for them to explore and work through challenges.

The natural language of a child is PLAY, and at Play Plus Therapy, we value and nurture that knowledge.

We have created a safe and playful space for children and families to truly feel seen, understood, and supported when children need to express big feelings, process experiences, and develop important social and emotional skills.

Our approach is gentle and creative, meeting the child where they are at, which allows for therapy to be tailored to the individual child, giving them the freedom to grow at their own pace.

We believe in the adage ‘It takes a Village to raise a child‘. This is why we see the systems around the child and engage them as part of the journey of wellbeing for the child.  We are walking alongside the primary caregivers, supporting and developing strategies and supports, offering insights and knowledge, so that the child may take the progress made in the playroom, and ripple it into their external life.

At Play Plus Therapy, children and families can feel seen, understood, supported, and have the freedom to grow socially and emotionally at their own pace.

Self-Esteem and Confidence:

By exploring their thoughts and challenges through play, children can develop a stronger sense of self, building confidence and resilience as they work through personal difficulties.

At Play Plus Therapy, we are dedicated to helping each child
build the skills and resilience using evidence-based practices tailored to their unique needs.

“We are never more fully alive, more
completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything, than
when we are at PLAY.”
